Surfing: Broad Haven Wind Direction: SE Wind Stength: 10 knots Surf / Sea State: 3-4 foot clean surf Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: cloudy Max Speed: Distance Covered:
I carried on to Pembrokeshire and met Martin at Newgale. The surf here was
pretty big and messy, but there was no wind. We then went to Broad Haven
where the surf was much cleaner although a little smaller. I had another
good surf in the 3-4 foot surf with some really nice right-handers. Martin
borrowed a foam board from the shop and messed around on the
inside.
Whilst at Broad Haven we kept a close eye on the wind and although there
seemed to be plenty of white caps out in St. Brides Bay, there just wasn't
anything on the beach. We did however drive back to Newgale at around
3.30pm and found that there was a decent 18 knot cross-shore wind
blowing...Maybe we should have stayed at Newgale! The wind then continued
to increase as it got dark and blew all night long. We spent the evening at
the Harbour Inn in Solva in the company of a particularly mad Welsh rugby
fan!!
